Parenting the Children with a Closer Look

This is certainly not the age to keep the children under rock and have them protected for any possible dangers. Since children today are open to the entire world and to both of its good and dark sides, parenting can use one tool to make sure that they are not going astray, the cell phone spy software.

Almost all the kids these days have at least a cell phone along with any other smart device and they are always glued to it, which makes it possible for the concerned parents to keep a better eye.

Parental control over cell phone

The biggest fear of any parents of a teenager would be drugs, and the most pathetic part is, often they find the disaster when it is too late. Drugs today are traded in schools, in parties, between friends and where not! Most of the communication regarding this is made through cell phones. When the parents have the monitoring software installed on the child’s phone, they can have an access through the phone calls and text messages through which they can be aware if any such horrendous case is going on.

Plus, if the parents are used to watching over the child’s activity like this, they can tell if any slang is being used to be secretive about anything and can understand the scenario with the possible danger attached to it. This attempt can also help the friends of their children who are not monitored by their parents as well.

Apart from the threat of drugs, there is another monster hiding in the closet named social networking and sharing. The naive and immature children, especially girls, may find it okay to film or snap any objectionable pictures of them and share with some special friends or just simply save it on phone, which can be spread if there is only a slight moment of negligence.

The result of it is easily assumable. Incidents like this are happening worldwide, in an alarming manner. Offensive videos and pictures of hundreds of teenage girls are available on internet every now and then, without them even knowing! When parents watch over the children’s phone activities, they can prevent such issues before it turns to a sexual harassment or disgrace.

In recent times, there have been incidents where teens and young adults are being involved in crimes that are stunning everyone in awe. Most of these are rooted in drugs, frustration, depression and many other mentally disturbing attitudes and life-styles that the parents might be totally unaware of.

Most of the kids do not feel comfortable in talking their hearts out with parents fearing that parents would not get them, and sadly it is true. If a parent is able to know all the friends, happenings, trending stuff the children are into, it will be easier for them to cope up.

Instead of sudden surprise or shocking revelations about their children, they will be used to of their life-style and likings without even pushing them to talk. This knowledge will help both of them to make the relationship better, indeed.

The Rise, Fall And Re-Birth Of MySpace

No company encapsulated the speed at which it was possible to rise to the apex of its field in this technological age more than MySpace.

Formed in 2003, MySpace became an integral part of the rise to prominence of the new phenomenon of social media, and in its heyday it was considered to hold a massively influential place in modern culture.

At the peak of its popularity, MySpace became locked in a tough battle with Facebook for dominance in the new arena of social media. And although both were espoused by hundreds of millions of people, it was often considered that, if Facebook was the social network intended for everyone, MySpace was aimed more towards a younger audience.

MySpace News For you

The original purpose of MySpace was not as a social network, however. The original domain owner, YourZ.com, intended the site to be used by its users to store their data and share it with others.

When the owners decided that the site should be free for all to access, it quickly began to take off, and, as was common in those years of the early 21st century, a number of its founders made fortunes out of the equity which they bought in the company.

But by 2005, the hungry pack of multi-national media companies, which had largely stood by and watched the arrival of the new kids on the block, were circling around these enterprises, keen to get access to their vast audiences in order to market their own content and products to them. So Rupert Murdoch’s News Corporation and American media giant Viacom engaged in a bidding war to acquire MySpace, which resulted in NewsCorp winning the battle, at a price of $580million – today equivalent to £364million.

For a while it seemed the massive investment was paying off as, a year later, the company was said to be worth three times its purchase price, and there was talk of a British version of MySpace being launched, and in August 2006, the company opened its one millionth account, and was going head-to-head with Facebook, which had diversified from its original audience of mainly college students into the mainstream.

From 2008 onwards though, MySpace went into decline, many people attributing this to its lack of innovation in comparison with Facebook and Twitter, which at the time were constantly devising new ways of both attracting new users, and enticing existing ones to spend more of their time on their networks.

Many users became alienated after MySpace signed a deal with Google to integrate advertisements on the two networks. The addition of more ads in a space already crowded with them made the site  slower – just at the time when Facebook unveiled a cleaner, streamlined version of its own interface.

Inevitably, NewsCorp eventually carried out a cull of senior MySpace management, before, in 2011, it tried to relaunch the site with a greater focus on music and entertainment content.

Losses at MySpace doubled between 2009 and 2010, prompting NewsCorp to put the site up for sale, but no one bid the reserve price by the time a deadline for a deal to be struck arrived.

Finally, in June 2011, it was acquired by Specific Media, whose majority shareholder is the singer Justin Timberlake. The purchase price was reported to be $35million.

Its halcyon days clearly behind it, it has since been slowly re-inventing itself, and in September 2012 a new look for the site was unveiled, which showcases a selection of new music and video content, along with sections for news in these categories. Now, it is operating very much as a showcase where performers can post their material, and viewers can discuss it, making it akin to a mix between Facebook and YouTube.

So MySpace is back -  it now remains to be seen whether a new target audience is ready to take it to their hearts once again, or whether its time will be considered to have passed.

A lot of pre-planning increases the chances of success.

Social media is great because it is free and you reach a huge audience quickly. Once you get a solid core of followers then they do a lot of the work for you. Social media users like to share what they like. This is better than free advertising because these persons target an interested audience, that is, their friends and contacts. But again, good planning makes this happen.

Do Ethics Really Matter?

This question depends on you. Do you want to deceive others in order to generate traffic and business? Or do you want to do things in a clean and professional manner? Following the rules does not mean that you have to sacrifice anything. In fact, ethical behavior online ensures your longevity since you don’t have to worry about any reprisals occurring by the big search engines. If your brand gets banned you might as well forget about any web success.

Six Tips for Producing Quality Content

Quality has become a byline as far as how search engines ultimately rank a website. Google has even launched a series of updates to address its call for quality. These include how links are created and how content is written. Gone are the days when we could recycle an article for example and submit it to hundreds of websites in an effort to get links.

content writer

Google in particular has frowned upon these practices and has penalized countless article submission sites or websites that publish plagiarized content. But what exactly is quality content and how could you produce one. Almost every website, even business sites contain a blog. And this is where the need for quality content comes in.

Tip 1: Create a Writing Schedule

Quality is often sacrificed for quantity. Establishing a writing schedule eliminates bad habits such as rushed articles. Hastily written articles are often poorly written in an effort to meet deadlines. Quality content demands research and simply rewriting an existing article can negatively affect your website’s quality.

Tips 2: Be Ready to Capture Ideas

Having a pen and paper within a moment’s notice ensures that all ideas are captured. Writers often find themselves dumbfounded trying to remember a great article topic. Sometimes the most interesting topics are those that come up when we least expect them.

Tip 3: Keep within your Expertise

Having prior knowledge about a subject helps you write informative and accurate content. It is also a good way of establishing credibility. People can smell a rat and as soon as you begin experimenting with other topics, readers will surely know you have little or no knowledge about the subject.

Keeping content within the boundaries of your niche or expertise also makes all articles relevant. Jumping from one subject to another only confuses your readers. People visit your website for specific information and you risk the chance of losing them when presented with a myriad of voices or topics.

 Tip 4: Keep Writing Simple

The best ideas are often expressed in the simplest of words. Rather than bombarding your readers with technical terms, use simple terms. Readers often visit a website for information and you can’t expect your readers to come back if they are constantly left with more questions than answers.

Tip 5: Write Now – Proofread Later

Don’t disturb your flow of thoughts by constantly checking for spelling or grammar. Quality content reads naturally and interrupting this could destroy the flow of writing. It’s hard enough to come up with words and constantly proofreading your article only makes thinking harder.

 Tip 6: Proofread your Articles

Having an English Major is not a requirement for writing quality content. But we must also exert considerable effort in ensuring that our articles are proofread before publishing it. People visit websites for information and we don’t want them leaving with a headache. Failing to proofread our articles is often the result of rushing. It is best if you delay proofreading for at least half an hour after completing the article. This gives you a better perspective and allows you to edit the article with fresher eyes.
